Dog Grooming Career Starter Course
The ultimate practical foundation for those ready to become a professional dog groomer Our structured 3-week course delivers comprehensive, hands-on training in a real working grooming salon, giving you the skills, confidence, and experience needed to launch your grooming career.
You’ll groom a variety of client dogs each day while learning techniques across bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, styling, handling, and salon hygiene. You'll also gain exposure to customer service, salon operations, and real-world problem solving.
Class sizes are strictly limited to a maximum of 3 students to ensure personalised coaching, consistent practice, and a high-quality learning environment.

Hi, I’m Jess, and I’m the Dog Grooming Instructor at Queensland School of Dog Grooming. When I was just 4 years old, I told my mum I wouldn’t get married, I’d have a farm full of dogs instead! While the farm hasn’t happened yet, grooming dogs every day is the next best thing, and I absolutely love it.

Our full-day one-on-one session is tailored to help you confidently groom your own dog. It’s just you and the instructor for the entire day, ensuring undivided attention and personalised guidance. With your dog by your side, you'll learn bathing, brushing, drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, clipping, and coat maintenance – all in a professional salon environment.

Intro to Breed Grooming – Hands-On Workshop
Great for beginners or hobby groomers wanting to master one specific breed or styleThis half-day workshop focuses on grooming a single breed or coat type from start to finish. You’ll learn correct grooming techniques and styling approaches with expert guidance in a supportive environment.
Breed-specific courses will be advertised by us in advance based on the breed chosen for that workshop. However, if you have a particular breed in mind, we’re more than happy to tailor future workshops to meet demand—just let us know!
