Hi, we’re Gemma and Peter, the proud owners of Barkley Park Dog Day Care and Grooming by Barkley Park. Our vision has always been to create a welcoming space built on community, where both dogs and their owners feel supported and valued.

I have always loved dogs and training them, but when I got my Kelpie, I knew I wanted to pursue a career working with dogs.
I have both a Kelpie cross who loves to work, train, and cuddle, and a Bull Terrier cross who loves to eat, sleep, and cuddle. They are my fur children.
My favourite part of working at Barkley Park is watching the dogs have so much fun in a really safe environment, knowing we have their best interest at the core of everything we do.
Barkley Park is a beautiful community! I particularly love meeting and connecting with new members and their furbabies every week.
I am both a dog owner with a Border Collie mix named Alaska, who you can often see running around Barkley Park, and a reptile fanatic with two scaly noodles. Over the past six years, I've grown my knowledge on all things animals. I've studied veterinary technology, wildlife science, and business while gaining hands-on experience at vet clinics, wildlife sanctuaries, and kennels
I’d always wanted a dog but couldn’t have one when I was little, so now I spend as much time as possible with dogs!
I love working at Barkley Park because of the awesome people and all the adorable dogs. I now have my own dog, a chocolate lab called Cocoa who loves to fall asleep on my lap
Patrick is one of our Dog Trainers and Daycare Activity Officers at Barkley Park. With formal qualifications in animal behaviour and dog training, Patrick combines his knowledge with a calm, patient approach to help dogs learn, build confidence and thrive. Whether he's working one-on-one in training sessions or caring for dogs in daycare, Patrick is passionate about understanding each dog's individual needs and creating positive experiences that strengthen the bond between dogs and their families.
Lara’s cheerful personality and hands-on approach make her an essential part of Barkley Park. She loves creating a positive and fun experience for every dog in her care, always ensuring they leave with wagging tails. Lara’s dedication and enthusiasm bring a spark to everything she does.
Sherin is a calming presence at Barkley Park, always attentive to the needs of each dog she works with. Her thoughtful and patient approach helps every furry guest feel at ease. Sherin’s reliability and care make her a key part of our team.
Hi, I'm Michaela! I've been with Barkley Park for almost five years, making me one of the longest-serving members of the team. Over the years I've cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities, and I love helping each one feel comfortable, confident and part of the Barkley Park family. You'll find me caring for our daycare dogs and helping operate The Barkley Bus, ensuring every dog's day starts and finishes safely. At home, I have a 9-year-old Maltese x Chihuahua named Cloud, who has always been my biggest inspiration for working with dogs.
Hi, I'm Storm! As one of the Activity Officers at Barkley Park, I love spending my days caring for and playing with dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities. I enjoy getting to know each dog's unique quirks and making sure they have a fun, safe and enriching day with us. Seeing dogs grow in confidence, make new friends and head home happy is one of the best parts of my job.
Our groomers
Barkley Park is a great place to groom because we aren't rushed to complete grooms quickly, allowing us to spend quality time on each one.
To ensure every dog feels comfortable and safe, I talk to them, take things at their pace, and never push them past their limits. I particularly enjoy grooming Cavoodles and love meeting the various dog breeds that come through the daycare.
I have a special talent for creating long, fluffy, flared, and pillar legs. I also have a particular fondness for the older dogs, and taking care of them is a high priority when they are entrusted to my care.
Lorena is one of our Dog Groomers at Barkley Park who loves making dogs look and feel their best. She has a gentle, patient approach and enjoys getting to know each dog's individual personality. Whether it's a routine tidy-up or a full groom, Lorena is dedicated to ensuring every dog has a positive, comfortable experience while in her care.
When I was 4, I told my mum that I wouldn’t be getting married but instead would have a farm with lots of dogs! Dog grooming fills my days with dogs, so it’s the next best thing to having that farm.
My favourite part of my job at Barkley Park is when a dog comes in needing a makeover, and I can help them feel more comfortable and look fabulous in the process!
I have a Cocker Spaniel named Spencer who sparked my love for grooming Cocker Spaniels, a Beagle named Sophie who has trained me to be a much more patient person, a kitty named Violet who never puts a paw wrong, and an aquarium full of native fish! Due to my passion for Cocker Spaniels, I have spent a lot of time learning how to properly groom them and care for their coats. I love grooming them
in any style, but I specialize in hand stripping them.
Emma brings a warm and caring approach to her role as a dog groomer at Grooming by Barkley Park. Passionate about animal welfare, Emma ensures every dog feels comfortable and pampered during their groom. Her attention to detail and gentle touch reflect our commitment to care, communication, safety, and pride. Whether it’s a playful pup or a shy companion, Emma loves creating a positive grooming experience for every furry client.
Alanna is an experienced member of our Grooming Team who has spent many years working with dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities. She plays an important role in preparing dogs for their grooms, ensuring every dog is bathed, dried and cared for with patience and attention to detail. Alanna's calm nature and wealth of experience help every dog feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their visit to Barkley Park.
